Glossy velvet gives accent chairs a smooth, light-reflecting surface, while pineapple grids and snowflake jacquards introduce a more visible pattern. Surface Options for Chair Designs

Luna Glossy Velvet emphasizes shine and pile direction on broad chair backs. The pineapple and snowflake designs break up the surface with repeated texture, which works on coordinated dining chairs and compact accent seating. Chair seats receive concentrated friction and compression, while chair backs may place greater emphasis on pattern and hand. A dining chair also faces food and drink spills. Fabric choice therefore combines appearance, intended use and a cleaning method suited to the finished cloth; fiber content or a heavy weight alone does not establish a wear rating.

Cutting Allowance and Fabric Length

The listed fabrics have a nominal width of 142 cm (55.9 in). Cutting plans use the width available between the selvages, together with the actual seat and back shapes, seam allowances and wrap-under depth. A rectangular surface measurement alone omits the fabric needed around the seat edge and underneath the base.

Velvet pile changes its apparent lightness as the viewing direction changes. Cutting all visible pieces in the same nap direction keeps the front, back and adjacent chairs visually consistent. Grid and check designs also need matching at visible seams and along the seat front; repeating patterns can increase the ordered length even when the chair panels fit within the fabric width.

Wear Tests and Appearance

Martindale cycles and Wyzenbeek double rubs describe different abrasion methods and cannot be converted into one another. For a chair specification, a test report needs the method and result for the selected fabric, together with pilling, seam and colorfastness information relevant to the use. An abrasion number measures a test outcome rather than a guaranteed service life.

Samples

Swatches are available for style and color selection. Sample preparation takes 5–7 business days; swatches are supplied without a fabric charge, with courier freight paid by the buyer.

Trial Length

A 5–20 m (5.5–21.9 yd) trial length supports a chair prototype. Trial cloth is USD 8 per m (USD 7.32 per yd), with preparation in 7–10 business days.

Production Orders

The minimum production order is 1,000 m (1,094 yd) per color. Fabric starts at USD 3.50 per m (USD 3.20 per yd), with the selected design and finish priced in the quotation.

Production Time

Production orders are made to order, with a 20–30 day production window after the style, color and order specification are agreed.

Packing and Shipping

Fabric is supplied in rolls protected for transport. EXW and FOB China quotations are available; delivery to the United States and other destinations is arranged by courier, air or sea freight.

Chair Upholstery Questions

Can I use velvet on a buttoned chair back?

Velvet can be used for buttoned chair backs. Deep tufts and covered buttons add fabric consumption, so the layout includes the tuck depth and separate button-cover pieces.

Does a printed picture show the exact fabric color?

Screen settings and lighting change the displayed color. A physical swatch viewed in the chair’s room provides a more useful color reference than an online photograph.

Can the fabric be used for piping?

The selected upholstery fabric can provide matching piping covers. Bias cutting uses additional cloth, and bulky patterned surfaces may need a separate plain trim for a sharper edge.

Is chair upholstery cloth the same as a removable chair cover?

This collection is upholstery cloth for making fitted furniture panels. A removable cover is a separately sewn product whose pattern, fastening and wash behavior must suit the chair.

What happens to the selvage in a cutting layout?

Selvages are excluded from visible upholstery panels. The layout uses the usable width inside those edges, leaving the selvage outside seams or trimming it away.
