SPECIFICATION DECISION
Choose The Right Weight And Backing For The Sofa Build.
Choose the base cloth or a backed version by the furniture construction, not by weight alone.
| Supply Option | Effect On Production | Best Fit |
|---|---|---|
| 220 GSM Base Velvet | Softer drape, lower delivered weight, and easier shaping around tailored upholstery. | Residential sofas, cushions, and chair panels after a seam and foam trial. |
| Backed Or Functionally Finished Velvet | More body and panel support, with a change in hand feel, sewing behavior, and final weight. | Large panels, higher seam stress, or furniture programs needing added dimensional support. |
Recommendation: Approve the exact fabric and backing combination with the intended foam, seam, and edge construction. A base-cloth approval does not transfer to a backed version.
COLOR AND LOT CONTROL
Lock The Color Lot Before Production And Reorders.
Lock the color, nap, width, weight, and finish before bulk release, then retain the same standard for replenishment.
- DefineSet the Pantone target, intended lighting, fabric face, and nap direction.
- Lab DipReview the dyeing lab dip prepared in 2-4 working days.
- FreezeSeal a production-representative swatch with color, 150 cm width, 220 GSM weight, backing, and finish recorded.
- ProduceRun the 20-25 day bulk production plan and label every roll by color, dye lot, roll number, and length.
Recommendation: For a repeat order, compare the new lot with the sealed master under the same light and nap direction before mixing rolls in one furniture program.

APPLICATIONS & EQUIPMENT
Match The Fabric To The Furniture Program.
The plain pile suits repeatable solid-color upholstery programs when the furniture construction, seam, foam, and nap direction are approved together.
Sofas And Sectionals
For seat, back, arm, and fixed-frame panels where the same nap direction is maintained across adjoining pieces.
Lounge And Accent Chairs
For tailored residential and hospitality seating after the approved swatch is tested with the intended foam, seam, and edge construction.
Furniture OEM And Upholstery Converters
For roll-based solid-color programs that require Pantone development, batch labels, repeatable width and weight, and export packing.
MATERIALS & MANUFACTURING
Construction, Color, And Finish Options.
Keep fiber content, knitted construction, dyeing, pile finish, and any added backing as separate specification lines so each production version remains comparable.
Fiber Content
100% polyester face fabric.
Manufacturing Route
Warp knitting followed by solid dyeing, finishing, inspection, and roll packing.
Pile And Finish
Plain directional velvet pile with optional backing and functional finishes developed through sample approval.
PERFORMANCE & WORKING CONDITIONS
Define The Upholstery Operating Window.
The product specification controls what is supplied; the furniture trial controls how that fabric performs with the selected seam, foam, panel shape, and care method.
CUSTOMIZATION
Customization For Furniture And Distribution Programs.
Define every change against one approved construction so color, backing, finish, packing, and order quantities remain controlled.
- Color Development: Pantone-referenced solid colors with a 2-4 working-day lab-dip cycle.
- Backing Options: Bonded or reinforced backing developed on a representative sample to add body or panel support.
- Functional Finishes: Finish options are sampled with the target color, pile, hand feel, and care method before bulk release.
- Roll And Label Format: Roll length, core, inner film, outer bag, private label, and carton marks can be set in the order specification.
- Quality File: Approved swatch, color target, width, GSM, roll number, and lot inspection criteria are linked to the order.
- Commercial Boundary: The standard MOQ is 1,000 m per color; custom backing or finish may require a separate setup quantity and lead-time allowance.
USE & SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Handle The Nap Correctly From Cutting To Cleaning.
Directional cutting, a representative seam trial, gentle pile care, and protected roll storage prevent the most common appearance and lot-control failures.
Approve The Swatch And Lot Standard
Compare color, pile direction, hand feel, width, 220 GSM weight, backing, finish, and face appearance under one agreed light source. Seal the accepted piece as the master for production and replenishment.
Cut Every Panel With One Nap Direction
Mark the roll direction before cutting and keep seat, back, arm, and cushion panels aligned. Allow about 10-20% directional cutting waste in the upholstery layout instead of rotating panels to save fabric.
Sew And Upholster With A Trial Panel
Test the selected needle, thread, stitch density, seam allowance, foam, piping, stapling tension, and edge shape on a representative panel. Release production only when the seam lies flat and the pile recovers without permanent marking.
Clean And Store The Pile Without Crushing
Vacuum with a soft upholstery attachment in the nap direction, blot spills without rubbing, and follow the sewn-in care code. Store rolls dry, wrapped, elevated, and protected from direct sunlight, heat, moisture, and edge compression.

PRE-SALES & AFTER-SALES SERVICE
Control The Approved Velvet Specification Through Reorders.
Each stage uses the same approved swatch, roll identifiers, and order specification so the buyer can trace decisions from inquiry through replenishment.
Before Ordering
Review the target use, color reference, 150 cm width, 220 GSM base, backing or finish option, quantity, packing, and destination in one quotation specification.
During Production
Keep the approved lab dip or master swatch with the production record, assign dye-lot and roll numbers, and inspect face appearance, shade, usable width, weight, and packing before shipment.
After Delivery
Use roll and lot identifiers for shortage, shade, pile, damage, or packing claims, and reference the retained sample when arranging replacement or repeat supply.
