Many people see that 100 polyester sofa fabric will naturally be understood as polyester sand release, and then default that it is dirt-resistant, wear-resistant and easy to take care. In fact, the most important thing in this string of English is the previous 100, which shows the fiber content, not the performance grade. Two pieces of sand release with 100% polyester also written on them may be far worse in feel, structure and durability. Some people call it 100 polyester fabric for sofa, which basically refers to the same kind of thing, that is, pure polyester fabric used on sofas.
The 100 percent polyester is an expression of fiber content, meaning that the fiber weight of the cloth is all polyester. It only answers the question of what is the composition of the cloth. As for how the cloth is woven, how much it weighs, whether there is suede, whether there is coating on the back, and what finishing has been done, there is no explanation. Therefore, if one looks at a 100% polyester, one cannot judge whether it is resistant to abrasion, unable to pilling, or whether it is firm in color, nor can one infer that it is flame retardant or easy to clean. The fiber content as a performance guarantee, is the most easy to step on the cloth when the pit.
Putting aside the specific fabric, polyester as the 1 chemical source of synthetic fibers, there are some relatively stable fiber layer characteristics. It has low moisture absorption, so it dries quickly; it is wrinkle-resistant and not easy to fold; it also has good resistance to stretching and shrinking. It makes sense to put these on the sofa: daily water is not easy to seep into the fiber, and it is not easy to get out of shape after washing and drying. But remember, this is the characteristics of the fiber layer surface, does not mean that the finished fabric is automatically waterproof, antifouling or breathable. The final performance of a piece of cloth depends on the yarn, organization and finishing.
Polyester can be made into long silk yarn or spun yarn, and then woven into plain weave, jacquard, velvet, imitation linen or even bouclé with knots and loops. The same is 100 percent polyester, plain and suede, looks and feels completely different; linen-like polyester does not contain flax. This is also why the price and performance of the cloth with 100 percent polyester on both labels can be much worse. Judging a piece of sand release depends on at least 5 levels: fiber composition, yarn shape, fabric structure, surface effect and finishing. No layer alone can represent the whole piece of cloth.
Pick a piece of sand cloth labeled 100 percent polyester, and instead of staring at the words, go back to the specific fabric itself. First confirm the fabric structure, whether it is woven or knitted, plain or suede; Look at the basic specifications of unit area quality and width. Then care about the test data matching the purpose, such as wear resistance, pilling resistance, breaking strength, seam slippage, color fastness to rubbing and color fastness to light. The number you get should bring the test method and unit. If you write a wear-resistant grade 4 or pass, you cannot compare it horizontally.
100% polyester sofa is very common in the family living room, but the living room is not the 1 performance level. Low-frequency use of the second bedroom sofa and high-frequency use of the main living room sofa, wear and anti-pilling requirements are not the same. If you have children or pets at home, you should look at the surface structure of the fabric, the risk of hooking, the pilling situation and the cleaning restrictions. You cannot draw conclusions based on polyester alone. The light fastness of the specific fabric must be compared separately for the position with strong light by the window.
Polyester low moisture absorption, quick drying, daily maintenance is relatively worry-free, but still according to the specific products and furniture care instructions. Dust regularly at ordinary times to remove loose particles on the surface; suck up the liquid in time after splashing, and don't let water seep into the filling and backing. Confirm the type of dirt before handling the stain, find out whether the furniture allows water-based or solvent-based cleaning, and then try it in an inconspicuous place. Do not wet excessively when cleaning. Excessive liquid may cause watermark, color migration or bond damage.
