When looking at the fabric label, you may encounter a situation that is easy to misjudge: both pieces of cloth are written with 100 percent polyester, one feels like linen, and the other feels soft and velvet. They have the same composition, but their appearance, feel and performance on the sofa are not necessarily the same. The reason is not complicated-the composition label only answers “what is the fiber”, and does not finish the yarn, weave, surface structure and finishing together.

100% Refers to the Fiber Content

What is 100 polyester fabric, which falls into the meaning of the label, means that the declared fiber weight is all polyester. Polyester is a synthetic fiber, which has the characteristics of low moisture absorption, quick drying, wrinkle resistance and resistance to elongation and shrinkage at the fiber level.

However, the boundaries of this statement are very important. 100% polyester does not mean that the whole fabric is automatically waterproof, antifouling, abrasion-resistant, anti-pilling, flame-retardant or easy to clean, nor does it mean that it is woven, knitted, jacquard, velvet or coated composite materials. After reviewing the ingredients, treat them as the first piece of known information rather than as a basis for making a purchase decision.

The Specification Sheet Must at Least Clarify These Issues

When purchasing in bulk, the same product name does not guarantee that different batches are exactly the same. Check the color, texture, feel and structure with the confirmation sample or batch sample, and then associate the approval sample with the model number, color number and batch.
