Blue Velvet Sofa Fabric: Check Color and Nap First

News Artical 00

1 a small sample of blue velvet looks rich and uniform under the display light, it may be bright and dark on the whole sofa. Don’t rush to label it as a color difference just yet. Suede will change the brightness and luster with the direction of pile, incident light and viewing angle. The visual effect of the same piece of cloth on the horizontal seat surface, vertical backrest and curved armrest may be different.

When selecting blue velvet sofa fabric, what really needs to be confirmed is not the sentence “whether blue looks good or not”, but whether the target blue, suede structure, cutting direction and use conditions can fall together on the verifiable samples and specifications.

First, Make the Blue a Confirmable Standard

Blue is only a very wide color family and cannot replace specific color numbers, standards, lightness, chroma and allowable color differences. Screen pictures will also be affected by the display, file color management and rendering light, only suitable for preliminary screening.

When selecting samples, place sufficient physical samples on the seat surface, backrest and armrest respectively, and observe under the condition close to sunlight and actual artificial lighting of the room. If the relationship between the sample and the wall, floor or wood veneer changes significantly after changing 1 a light source, it should be confirmed whether this is a visual difference caused by the light source, rather than placing an order based on the color you see for the first time.

The same set of furniture, especially corner sofas, should be unified batch, volume number and visual benchmark. In addition to the color name, the purchase document shall retain the payment number, color number, approval sample or batch sample, and agree on the color evaluation conditions. In this way, there is a basis for subsequent comparisons of rolls, rolls, heads, tails, and width left, middle and right.

See What “Velvet” Specifically Means

Velvet, velvet and velour may all have a suede appearance, but they may be woven, knitted or other structures, and cannot be identified as the same material by trade name alone. The specifications shall include requirements for acceptance of woven or knitted structure, fluff formation, fiber composition, pile height, density, orientation, and indentation or lodging.

Also separate appearance from performance. Blue plus suede, only indicates the color and surface characteristics, and does not automatically represent a wear-resistant, anti-pilling, anti-fouling or easy-to-clean rating. The high frequency seating surface shall be checked separately for wear, pile retention, indentation, lodging, seams and color fastness to dry and wet rubbing. Detection numbers are only suitable for comparison if the methods, conditions, and endpoints are consistent.

Set the Velvet Direction First, Then Look at the Whole Sofa

The direction of the suede will affect the color depth and reflection, and also affect the consistency of the discharge and the finished product. Before formal cutting, the rules for reversing wool should be determined, and the winding direction and pile direction of all cut pieces should be marked on the layout diagram. If the backrest, seat surface, armrest and corner module are not in the same direction, even if they come from the same roll of cloth, obvious light and dark zones may appear.

The small sample is not enough to show the effect of the entire sofa. The samples can be observed in different parts according to the predetermined direction. For furniture with more or curved surfaces, it is better to further check the typesetting and packaging effect of the cutting pieces. Suede will appear different luster after bending, stretching or sitting pressure. Whether high-frequency parts can accept indentation and local lodging should be made clear when selecting materials, instead of attributing all changes to quality problems after installation.

Incorporate Routine Maintenance as an Option

Suede sofas generally rely more on directional finishing than flat, tight fabrics. Daily vacuuming or combing should follow the care instructions for specific products and furniture, using tools that will not hook or strongly rub the surface; reverse hard brushing may change the appearance of local reflection and suede.

When stains appear, check the cleaning code, fabric structure, color fastness and allowable cleaning medium, and pretest in an inconspicuous place. Rubbing hard or over-saturating the fabric, backing, and padding may cause poor lint, hydrosphere, color migration, or uneven drying. The wet color after local treatment cannot be used as the final judgment. It should be looked back after the layers are completely dry and the pile is restored according to the instructions.

Before placing the final order, put the target color sample, velvet direction rule, structure and composition, nursing method, application corresponding test results and batch requirements on the same checklist. Only when these conditions can correspond to specific colors, blue velvet is not only a color label in the effect diagram, but also a sofa material scheme that can be stably implemented.
